Potential buyer says he applied for loan from credit union and wants purchase order from me today, shady or no
So I have advertised my automobile online, and this day I had a guy email and say that he wants to buy the car. He hasn’t seen or driven the automobile yet. I called him, and he said that he’s been approved for a loan from the credit union. He said that he needs a purchase order or sales contract from me this day and that he can get me a certified check tomorrow.

I do not know anything at all about credit unions and loans. Does this guy sound shady? Should I avoid selling the automobile to him?
He says he needs a purchase order from me in order to get the money for the certified check. Is that true?
Thanks guys! I knew it sounded a little funny, but I was not sure if it was just because I am not very knowledgeable about this sort of thing. Good to know my intuition was right!
